Hello everybody

Let's me introduce this dialogue with Prof. Ami Volansky from the University of Tel Aviv, in Israel. I want to thank him for his participation in the Webinar 2010, which will allows us acquire deeper knowledge about the experience they are carrying with model 1 to 1 in Israel, in distant context and different situation from ours. I hope that through the questions and answers, we could access interesting and enlightening information.

Quiero darle la bienvenida al Prof. Ami Volansky de la Universidad de Tel Aviv en Israel, y agradecerle por su participación en el Webinar2010. Su presencia en este seminario nos va a permitir conocer con más detalle las experiencias que están llevando a cabo en Israel, con situaciones y contextos diferentes a nuestra realidad.

Espero que el diálogo sea enriquecedor. El Prof. Volansky recibirá las preguntas y responderá en inglés

Siempre resulta interesante leer acerca de experiencias en otros países, y sobre todo en estos tan distintos al nuestro, sin embargo, los intereses al momento de enfrentar los nuevos desafíos que implica la actual sociedad de la inf/conocimiento, genera proyectos, investigaciones, siempre dirigidos a mejorar la calidad de la educación por aquellos que apuestan a ella como único medio de mejorar. Quería preguntarle al Prof Volansky si están viendo que hay gente que se suma a esa propuesta, si hay una decisión política de apoyar ese tipo de iniciativas, y si la población responde en general a estas, o si sólo se da en grupos aislados.

i want to ask Prof. Volansky how they introduce this experience... ¿They start working with the teachers? ¿They start with the directors of the schools? ¿Are teachers familiar with the use of computers before the program start?
Apart from that i would like to know if the programme is support from the goverment? How many time do the programm need to concidered itself "succes"?

Dear Mr Volansky,
I greatly enjoyed reading about your project because many teachers and institutions can identify with the experience in Israel.
The results of the study showed a great improvement in learning time. This improvement was noticed in “effective practice and tools addressing different levels of teaching and learning” (slide 6). Can you briefly provide an example of what kind of practice led to changes in teachers´ ways of teaching?
What are students doing differently as a result of using technology in a 1 to 1 model?

I would like to read more about the experience in Israel. Is there a written report that describes this experience?

Disfrute de leer de su proyecto porque muchos docentes e instituciones se pueden sentir identificados con la experiencia en Israel.
Los resultados del estudio muestran que se registro una mejoría en los tiempos de aprendizaje. Esta mejoría se noto en “practicas efectivas y herramientas que estaban destinados a distintos niveles de aprendizaje y enseñanza” (diapositiva 6). Nos podría dar un breve ejemplo de los tipos de practicas que contribuyeron a los cambios en la enseñanza? Que es lo que los alumnos hacen distinto como resultado de usar la tecnología en un modelo 1 a 1?

Me gustaría leer mas acerca de su experiencia en Israel. Existe un informe que describa esta experiencia?

Desde ya muchas gracias. Y esta es una oportunidad maravillosa para conocer lo que otros países están haciendo con las TICs.

Dear Mr Volansky,

I 'd like you to explain the Pedagogic reform you mention in your slides. What does R & D stand for? Also what teaching platform you are using. And, when you mention 3 years of field experiment, you mean you worked 3 years before the project was launched to the students, don't you? This is something difficult to explain when you present a project at an institution.
Also I'd like you to explain how classes changed as regards the students motivation related to the use of ICT.

It is always interesting to read about experiences in other countries, and particularly about experiences in these countries which are significantly different from ours. However, when it comes to facing new challenges related with the current “knowledge/information society”, the interests involved give rise to projects and research focused on improving the quality of education for those who believe that it is the only mean to progress. I would like to ask Prof Volansky whether he knows if there is people who joins this program, whether a policy has been designed to support that type of ideas, and whether the population responds in general, or if that occurs only within isolated groups.
